is a painter, engineer, and poet who has turned her focus to still-life photography. In The Brown Wall Series, she photographs flowers and plants—most grown in her own Seattle garden—staged against a single south-facing corner in her home office. Influenced by Seattle's distinctive light against the dark brown wall of her office, Brice explores chiaroscuro effects in her carefully composed arrangements. Her work incorporates the narrative tradition of still-life painting and draws upon Flemish food art, often tracing arrangements from freshly cut blooms to blown and withered.
